TV Review
Veronica Mars (Mid-Season 1)
UPN
2004
Rating:

For the first year without a "Buffy"-verse to cling to, those seeking a young, blonde, quick-witted, butt-kicking blonde have found solace with "Veronica Mars." A great noir for the teen-set, Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) battles Heathers and Plastics as she tries to solve the murder of her friend, a case that has been overshadowed by the more soapy murder on "Desperate Housewives'" Wisteria Lane. But the mystery of "Mars" is more compelling if only because it's socially conscious and has an unsentimental nostalgia for innocence lost.
