Impossibly modest and impossibly generous, "Before Sunset" manages the equally impossible task of being better than its predecessor. "Before Sunrise" was all about romance and hope, but here Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) are faced mostly with regret and the damage of time. Yet, like "Eternal Sunshine," it's also about second chances. As Jesse and Celine race against time to their last dance (or is it?), director-co-screenwriter Richard Linklater provides the simplest and most elegant love story of his generation.
